A space defined by innovation and built for functionality, San Diego’s new WD-40 Company headquarters resemble an office-turned-village, evoking the company’s community-centric culture. Each work station in the building is exactly the same size with access to natural daylight – enabling a collaborative environment that aligns with a comfortable, at-home feel.
Solana Beach-based design firm ID Studios approached the project with a goal of creating a cohesive working environment with central connection points that bring people together in a tribe-like manner.
Throughout the space, you’ll find open-office and breakout areas, a rustic living room, in-house gym and locker room, Outback-themed break room with seating and games, and lastly, a garage space with license plates from places you will find WD-40 products around the globe.
ID Studios views Emser Tile as a partner that aligns with WD-40 Company’s values – and offers products with the best combination of aesthetic, performance, and price point. The company recently specified a number of Emser Tile collections to include in this unconventional corporate environment designed to get wheels turning – in more ways than one.
In the open-concept Cantina kitchen, team members break for lunch and games. Barn was installed as an accent backsplash in rustic white and black tones that embody the look of painted wood planks.
With a company emphasis on associate wellness, the office also features a gym and spacious locker rooms. Vogue and Velocity were installed on the locker room walls and floors, respectively, for beautiful contrast, while Cosmopolitan lines the shower stall floors and bases.
